The past couple of weeks have seen some serious conversations taking place between Kevin and myself regarding the technologies for Dungeon Heart. Various options were discussed and various proposals were presented and finally the decision has been made by the main game sponsor; Horizon Studios; to go down the route of the UDK (or Unreal Development Kit) ... and I fully support this decision. The past couple of weeks have seen some serious conversations taking place between Kevin and myself regarding the technologies for Unreal Development Kit) ... and I fully support this decision. Although the Torque range of products from Garage Games can do the job and do the job well ... Kevin felt that the team at Horizon Studios had more exposure to the UDK ... that and the fact the licensing of the UDK is more favorable to the Indie Game Developer. I personally don't have much experience with the UDK and as such will be taking on more of a consulting role for this project. Gobbo Games will continue to assist the Horizon Studios team where required ... but the project is well and truly under the capable leadership of Kevin. So here we go ... technology chosen ... now we get down to the meat and potatoes of the project ... so to speak. Stay tuned for more updates. |
